The Durban-native rapper has carved his name into this year’s streaming history books with 4LUV2, which has officially become the first South African hip-hop album of 2026 to remain inside the Top 10 of the South African Apple Music Albums Chart for 11 consecutive days.
Chart-tracking platforms, including The Table Chart on Instagram, confirm that the project has not slipped from the upper tier since its release.
Launched on 13 February 2026, just ahead of Valentine’s Day, the eight-track offering arrived with perfect timing. Designed as a continuation of his earlier 4LUV EP, 4LUV2 leans into romance, vulnerability, and emotional transparency. The project trades heavy bravado for softness, weaving airy R&B textures into Blxckie’s signature melodic trap foundation.
Among the standout moments is “alupheli,” featuring Young Stunna, alongside tracks such as “here and now,” “ukuxabana,” “make sure,” and “lykdis.” The sonic palette blends subtle trap drums, gentle amapiano influences, and silk-smooth melodies that feel tailor-made for late-night reflection.
The impact was immediate. 4LUV2 debuted at No. 3 on the SA Apple Music Albums Chart and has held firm in the Top 10 ever since. Recent snapshots show the album still positioned at No. 3 locally, with additional traction in neighbouring markets including Swaziland, Botswana, Malawi, and Zimbabwe. In a competitive early-year release window, that level of consistency signals more than hype. It signals staying power.
Apple Music is not the only arena where the numbers tell a compelling story. The album entered the SA Spotify Weekly Albums Chart at No. 20 with roughly 430,000 streams. It also recorded over 159,000 first-day streams on Spotify, including more than 131,000 from six charting tracks. Industry watchers note that this marks the biggest opening week of Blxckie’s career so far.
