Bordeaux Bègles’ 64-14 Investec Champions Cup last-16 win against the Leicester Tigers came at a high price.
Springbok midfielder Rohan Janse van Rensburg lasted barely a minute after coming off the bench in the 50th minute before going down in clear distress. He was assisted from the field and later seen leaving the stadium on crutches.

Sud Oest reports that the 31-year-old has suffered a ruptured achilles tendon, which would rule him out for the rest of the season.
Janse van Rensburg had replaced Yoram Moefana.

The injury comes at a difficult time for Bordeaux, who are already without France centre Nicolas Depoortere due to a shoulder injury.
Bordeaux host Toulouse in a blockbuster quarter-final on Sunday.
