Burna Boy, born Damini Ogulu, has publicly apologized to fans in a new video shared online after facing widespread criticism and reports of declining ticket sales linked to a recent controversy at one of his concerts.
The situation escalated after an incident during his show in Denver, Colorado, where the singer paused mid-performance upon noticing a woman sleeping in the front row. Burna Boy asked for her to be escorted out, warning her boyfriend to remove her or risk the show ending entirely.
The backlash intensified when an older clip resurfaced, showing him saying he prefers wealthy supporters and does not rely on anyone for help. The video renewed criticism across social media, with many fans expressing disappointment and calling for a boycott of his shows.
Amid the uproar, several dates on his No Sign of Weakness U.S. tour were abruptly cancelled. Ticketmaster confirmed that his November 28, 2025 performance at The Armory in Minneapolis was called off just a day before the event. His Chicago show scheduled for December 1 was also cancelled.
However, a new video from his recent performance in Texas appears to show Burna Boy addressing the controversy directly. While singing, he paused to apologise to fans, admitting that his earlier remarks were a mistake and assuring the audience that he did not intend to offend anyone.
The apology marks his first public attempt at mending fences since the criticism began, even as uncertainty continues to surround the remainder of his tour dates.
“I know my ticket sales are suffering since that incident. Even the coffee I introduced no one is buying. So please I am sorry to everyone and everything I said. It was a slip of tongue.”
