Rory Duncan has been appointed CEO of the Free State Cheetahs.
Netwerk24 reports that the 47-year-old could join the union as early as mid-January.
Duncan replaces Ross van Reenen, whose three-year term recently expired.
Duncan played for the Cheetahs from 2006 to 2008, and captained them to the 2007 Currie Cup title.
After hanging up his boots, he was appointed Cheetahs director of rugby, and coached the Vodacom Cup, U21, Currie Cup and Pro14 teams, before joining the Worcester Warriors in England.
