Chelsea stops Nicolas Jackson’s transfer to Bayern Munich

Chelsea Football Club have informed Bayern Munich that they have withdrawn their interest in loaning out Nicolas Jackson to them for the rest of this season.

The Blues took this decision after Liam Delep suffered an injury in the Premier League game against Fulham at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, August 30, 2025. Bayern and Chelsea had initially reach an agreement for a record loan fee of €15 million for Nicolas Jackson.

Delap, who signed for Chelsea from Ipswich Town for £30million ($40m) this summer, was withdrawn on 14 minutes in the London Derby immediately gesturing to his hamstring. He was replaced by Tyrique George.

The head coach of Chelsea, Enzo Maresca confirmed during his post-match press conference after the gane against Fulham that Delap will be out for a lengthy period.

He said,

“Liam Delap is expected to be out for 6 to 8 weeks because of this type of injury”

Delap’s injury and Jackson’s proposed departure would have left summer signing Joao Pedro as Chelsea’s only recognised senior striker going into the rest of the season.

Jackson had arrived in Germany ahead of medicals before the transfer window closes on Monday, September 1, 2025. However, there are also reports that the player’s camp are not willing to let him return to London.
