Chelsea Football Club have confirmed the departure of Christopher Nkunku on a permanent deal to AC Milan.
The move was announced on the official website of Chelsea and AC Milan on Saturday, August 30, 2025. Christopher Nkunku has signified his intrest to leave the Premier League club since the 2025 summer transfer window was opened.
The France international joined the Blues in June 2023 from RB Leipzig, playing just 14 games and finding the net just three times, his first season was cut short due after he picked up an injury which ruled him out of the season.
In Nkunku’s second season at Stamford Bridge, he featured on 48 occasions across all competitions and scored goals. Five of those goals came during our Conference League campaign, which ended with the Blues lifting the trophy in Wroclaw.
The 27-year-old’s last Chelsea strike was a crucial goal against Benfica in the Club World Cup Round of 16. He signed a five-year deal which will keep him at San Siro until 2030.
How much did AC Milan pay Chelsea for Christopher Nkunku?
The deal cost Chelsea €35m and an additional €5m in add-ons, he will earn €5m per year. He will wear the number 18 jersey at AC Milan which was the same number he wore at Chelsea.
Nkunku will be a good addition to the Milan club after a disappointing outing at the end of the 2024/25 season which saw then finish in eighth place.
