Nigerian music superstar, Davido, has shared a nostalgic moment from his high school days, recalling how he was once described as a mere “guest” in his school’s prom magazine.
Taking to his Instagram stories, Davido posted an old photo from his high school prom magazine, showing him alongside three other male students, all dressed in black suits for the occasion. However, while the other students were properly named in the magazine’s description, the Grammy-nominated singer was simply referred to as “a guest.”
The magazine’s caption read: “Michael Famoroti, Senibo Nelson-Jaja, Chukwuemeka Nwani and a guest.”
Reacting to the memory with amusement, the Unavailable crooner expressed his surprise at how far he had come, writing: “This was my high school prom, na guest I be then o.”
Davido’s post quickly caught the attention of fans, who found it inspiring that someone once overlooked in school would go on to become one of Africa’s biggest music stars.
