As the summer 2025 transfer window enters deadline day, Nigerian players have been the busiest so far, with speculations indicating that three Super Eagles of Nigeria forwards could be on the verge of completing a move to one of the biggest leagues in Europe, the Premier League.
When is the 2025 summer transfer window closing?
The summer transfer window for the Premier League and other major European leagues will officially shut at 7:00 pm on Monday, September 1, 2025. Unlike previous years when the deadline was set at 11:00 pm, the closure has been moved forward to ensure the process concludes within standard working hours for club staff.
Who are the Nigerian players joining the Premier League in 2025?
Here are the Nigerian players expected to complete a move to the Premier League before the transfer window officially closes today:
Samuel Chukwueze

Samuel Chukwueze Fulham transfer update
Super Eagles of Nigeria winger, Samuel Chukwueze, is on the verge of completing a transfer to the Premier League side Fulham, according to emerging updates.
The London club had attempted to sign Chukwueze in the final days of the January transfer window, but the move collapsed due to time constraints. This time, negotiations have progressed smoothly, and reports suggest the deal is now on the brink of completion.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, an agreement is expected to be finalised within hours, with Chukwueze set to join Fulham on an initial loan. Fellow journalist Alfredo Pedullà adds that the player is due to arrive in London later today to undergo his medical.
The overall package is thought to be worth around €25 million, though full details of the structure of the transfer are yet to be disclosed.
Tolu Arokodare

Tolu Arokodare’s Wolves transfer update
Wolverhampton Wanderers have reached an agreement to sign Genk striker Tolu Arokodare in a deal worth £24 million.
The 24-year-old Nigerian forward enjoyed a standout campaign last season, finishing as the Jupiler Pro League’s joint-top scorer with 21 goals as Genk secured third place.
Arokodare is expected to bolster Wolves’ attacking options alongside Jorgen Strand Larsen, with the club determined to keep hold of the Norwegian after rejecting offers of £50m and £55m from Newcastle United.
Since arriving at Genk from Latvian outfit Valmiera in 2023, Arokodare has registered 41 goals in 113 appearances for the Belgian side.
Christantus Uche

Christantus Uche’s Crystal Palace transfer update
According to the latest transfer update, Crystal Palace are closing in on the signing of Getafe and Super Eagles of Nigeria forward Christantus Uche, with the player already in London to complete his move.
The versatile attacker is set to become Palace’s latest addition this summer as the club look to strengthen their options following the departure of Eberechi Eze to Arsenal. While other recent arrivals offer depth and competition, Uche is expected to provide a more direct impact in the Eagles’ attack.
