“Dear Rikhado, Love Riyadh” Carries YoungstaCPT’s Tribute To Bravo Le Roux. The South African hip-hop scene is once again in a period of deep reflection and mourning, as Cape Town rapper YoungstaCPT (born Riyadh Roberts) honoured the life of the late Bravo Le Roux through a moving and deeply symbolic tribute.

Taking to Instagram, YoungstaCPT shared a short but powerful message that read: “Bravo, send salute to Rikhado.” Alongside the words was a clip from his 2022 song Dear Rikhado, Love Riyadh, a track he originally released in the wake of Riky Rick’s passing.
At the time, the song served as a letter of grief, respect, and admiration, capturing Riky Rick’s impact as a mentor, cultural leader, and artist’s artist within South African hip-hop. Now, that same song carries a renewed emotional charge. By reusing the tribute, YoungstaCPT reframed its message to honour Bravo Le Roux (Sinesipho Peter), the Khayelitsha-born rapper who died on January 22, 2026, at the age of 30 while in Switzerland.
His family later confirmed that his death was the result of suicide, a revelation that reignited conversations around mental health and the pressures faced by creatives. Fellow artists, fans, SAMRO, and the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture all paid tribute, remembering Bravo as a fearless storyteller and a proud representative of township culture whose voice resonated far beyond his community.
By pairing Bravo’s name with a song dedicated to Riky Rick, YoungstaCPT subtly drew a connection between two influential figures whose lives ended far too soon. Both artists were celebrated for their authenticity, cultural pride, and ability to speak honestly about the realities of South African youth. The post underscored a shared sense of grief within the hip-hop family, where each loss echoes long after the music stops.
YoungstaCPT and Bravo Le Roux also shared a creative history, having collaborated on tracks that blended sharp lyricism with a deep sense of identity. Fans described the tribute as both beautiful and heartbreaking, a moment where one voice is honoured through words once written for another.
As preparations continue following Bravo Le Roux’s repatriation from Switzerland, tributes like this stand as reminders of the tight bonds within South African hip-hop. Even in moments of loss, the culture finds ways to speak, remember, and uplift.
