Ivory Coast and Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba in an exclusive interview has opened up on the footballer he thinks currently plays like him in the world of football today.

The former African Player of the Year stated that the Super Eagles of Nigeria forward, Victor Osimhen is the player who currently exhibits his traits as a footballer or striker on the field of play.

He also added that football fans in Ivory Coast often say this to him as well whenever he’s at an event.

Osimhen, who has established himself as one of Europe’s top strikers in recent seasons, has often been compared to Drogba for his physical presence, aerial ability, and leadership qualities on the pitch.

The 25-year-old was instrumental in helping Napoli secure their first Serie A title in over three decades during the 2022–23 campaign, earning him widespread acclaim across Europe.

Drogba’s endorsement adds to the growing recognition of Osimhen as Africa’s next great number nine. The Chelsea legend, who scored over 300 career goals and won four Premier League titles, has long been seen as an inspiration for many young African forwards.
