Emtee Records Breaks Silence On Babygrlzae Exit Speculation. In the latest twist of a rapidly escalating South African hip hop dispute, Emtee’s label, Emtee Records, has firmly denied reports that its flagship artist Babygrlzae has parted ways with the imprint.
The label released a polished statement carrying the branding of both Emtee Records and Babyg!rlZae. Under the heading “Official Response Statement,” it addressed circulating claims about the artist’s alleged departure.
“We are aware of the statement circulating regarding BABYG!RLZAE’s alleged departure from Emtee Records. At this stage, we maintain that this information is inaccurate and may have been issued by third parties managing the account, and does not reflect the true situation,” the statement reads.
The label emphasised that there has been no direct confirmation from Emtee regarding any split. It added that the last interaction between the parties was positive, with no indication of conflict. The statement further clarified that only Emtee has the authority to confirm contractual changes and that no third party can make such announcements. It concluded with a clear stance that Babygrlzae remains signed to the label.
However, Babygrlzae has publicly shared her views on the ongoing misunderstanding.
In a candid and widely shared response, the artist expressed continued respect and affection for Emtee but alleged that the situation is being influenced by his wife, Nicole Chinsamy.
“I always wish the best for Emtee. I’ve got nothing but love for him,” she said. “But this is coming from Nicole, not Emtee. As far as I’m concerned, she has access to his phone. She blocked me on both his account and the Emtee Records account. I haven’t heard from him since Monday, after I posted that TikTok. I believe she’s the one posting these things.”
According to Babygrlzae, communication with Emtee stopped shortly after she shared a TikTok earlier this week, which she believes may have triggered the fallout. She claims she has since been blocked from both his personal and label accounts, while statements about her departure surfaced without direct input from him.
For now, the label maintains its position that Babygrlzae is still part of Emtee Records. The artist, meanwhile, continues to show loyalty toward Emtee while drawing a firm distinction between him and those she believes are managing his digital presence.
