EPCR: Chippie played key role in SA integration

EPCR has paid tribute to Stormers team manager Chippie Solomon, who died on Saturday morning.

It is believed the 64-year-old suffered a heart attack.

“Chippie played a key role during the integration of South African clubs into international club rugby,” said the organisers of the Investec Champions Cup and EPCR Challenge Cup.

“Through his warmth, approachability and natural ability to connect people, he made that transition seamless and built strong, lasting relationships across the game. Working with him was always easy, positive and genuinely enjoyable for everyone at EPCR.

“He leaves behind only the very best memories for all those who had the privilege to know him. He will be deeply missed.

“EPCR extends its heartfelt condolences to his wife Pearl, his children Nina and Chad, and to everyone at the Stormers, including the players and staff who were so deeply attached to him.”
