Erik Ten Hag speaks on Luke Shaw’s injury ahead of Barnsley tie

Manchester United’s manager, Erik Ten Hag, gave an update to the club’s supporters about the players on its injury list ahead of the league Cup game against Barnsley.

One of the club’s latest signings during the 2024 summer transfer window, Noussair Mazraoui, limped off in the closing stages of United’s 3-0 Premier League win at Southampton on Satuday, September 14, 2024, Matthijs de Ligt also came off with cramps. However, both are available for selection when they play their league club clash in the third round.

Players on Manchester United’s injury list

Luke Shaw (calf), Leny Yoro (foot), Victor Lindelof (toe), Mason Mount (muscular), Rasmus Hojlund (hamstring) and Tyrell Malacia (knee) are are all still sidelined. According to him, Uruguay’s Manuel Ugarte could make his full debut against Barnsley.

He gave an update specifically on Luke Shaw stating that English International is still injured, but he is progressing but not ready for selection.

“He’s progressing but not yet ready to be selected. He is progressing well. We have a plan in our head when he can be ready, but you’re always dependent on how the progress will go. There are many factors, a plan can accelerate or slow down”.

Manchester United supporters will hope they will have most of their players fit as the season progresses into its busiest time.
