“I listened to so much Kiernan,” Focalistic said, recalling their time together at Sumo. “I remember there was a time he took me to the kitchen and then to the back of the back of the kitchen to say, ‘Yo, this thing that you’re doing, I really respect it. I don’t want to do it in front of everyone’s eyes… But I do hear my influence in your music. I don’t want to be like that, broer, but I want you to know that, you know, respect.’”
