In a heartfelt Instagram post, iFani shared a series of interconnected stories showing how love—whether for family, culture, friends, or music itself—has shaped his journey and bridged divides within the South African rap scene.

He began with his early struggles, recalling repeated rejections from radio stations until signing with Sony Music, a move that turned his dream into reality. “You can’t do it alone,” he wrote, highlighting the importance of support and collaboration.

iFani then told how teaching his son isiXhosa through Xhosa rap led him to discover and eventually meet Bravo Le Roux, whose music became an instant favourite. Their connection grew into both music and genuine friendship. “Senza umculo, sakha ubudlelwane,” he said, which means “We made music, we built relationships.” His takeaway was clear: “Love for children, love for music, love … just love. And the rest will follow.”

The story took a deeper turn with Bhut Legend, a fellow Eastern Cape artist from Mthatha. A collaboration initially seemed impossible because of loyalty and personal conflicts. Legend had declined, citing his “ride or die” bond with another figure. iFani emphasised the lesson he carried with him: “Love your loved ones.”

Love eventually won. iFani reached out to resolve the conflict, bringing forgiveness and peace. “Love is the answer and beef is the question,” he reflected. “Love will lead you to peace.”

Plans for the track “3rd Quadrant” moved forward, featuring both iFani and Bhut Legend, with Bravo Le Roux set to add his signature verse. Anticipation was high for music videos and heavy promotion, but tragedy struck. Bravo Le Roux, born Sinesipho Peter, passed away unexpectedly in Switzerland in January 2026 at age 30. His family confirmed the cause as suicide, sending shockwaves through South Africa’s music community and prompting calls for mental health awareness.

Even amid grief, the music endured. iFani revealed that the track, now titled Imali, will feature Bhut Legend, himself, and Bravo Le Roux’s verse. “Tomorrow, Bhut Legend feat. iFani & Bravo Le Roux drops,” he wrote. “Moral of the story: Love lives on.”

Bhut Legend announced the upcoming single with a presave link, presenting it not only as a musical collaboration but also as a tribute to Bravo’s legacy in Xhosa rap and the bonds built through shared passion. Fans and peers have praised it as a powerful reminder that creativity and connection endure even through loss.

In a music industry often defined by competition, iFani’s reflections stand as a testament to unity, reconciliation, and the timeless power of love. As the release of “Imali” approaches, the South African hip-hop community comes together in anticipation and remembrance.
