Lions to unleash Sanele on Stormers

Sanele Nohamba makes his return for the Lions as skipper Marius Louw runs out for his 50th cap in their derby clash against the DHL Stormers in Cape Town on Saturday.

Ivan van Rooyen’s charges will face the Stormers in round 8 of the Vodacom URC at Cape Town Stadium, with the Pride pulling out of a three-match slump with a 43-35 win over Pau in Johannesburg last week.

Nohamba, who has started just two games in all competitions this season and last featured in round 1 of the Challenge Cup at the start of December, is set to provide impact from the bench at scrumhalf and flyhalf.

In other changes, Ruan Delport replaces the injured Reinhard Nothnagel at lock while prop Morgan Naude is in line to make his comeback as a replacement after recovering from an arm niggle.

Other players not considered due to injury are Henco van Wyk, Quan Horn, Ruan Venter and Siba Qoma.

The Lions, in fifth place on the URC table, have four wins out of six matches this season, winning two of their four away games – both of which were abroad. The 13th-placed Stormers are the only SA side in the competition outside of the top eight.
