Nigerian stars Lojay and Sarz have scored another major international milestone as their smash hit Monalisa featuring American singer Chris Brown has officially been certified Gold in the United States.
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) confirmed the certification on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, after the record surpassed 500,000 units in sales and streams across the country.
Originally released in 2021 as part of Lojay’s breakout EP LV N ATTN, the Sarz-produced single quickly became a fan favorite across Africa before the Chris Brown remix elevated it to global recognition. The collaboration turned Monalisa into a viral success, topping charts and gaining heavy rotation on radio and streaming platforms worldwide.
For Lojay and Sarz, this latest recognition adds another chapter to their growing legacy as leading figures in the Afrobeats wave sweeping across the globe. It also underscores how Nigerian artists continue to break new ground in the U.S. market.
This isn’t the first RIAA certification for Lojay and Chris Brown, their joint track Sensational was certified Platinum earlier this year after surpassing one million units in combined sales and streams.
The Monalisa remix remains a perfect example of Afrobeats’ global crossover power, blending Lojay’s smooth vocals, Sarz’s signature production flair, and Chris Brown’s R&B touch to create a sound that resonates from Lagos to Los Angeles.
