Taking to Instagram, the Durban-born rapper offered a brief but meaningful update that immediately lifted the spirits of his supporters. “Feeling much better. Thank you for your love and patience ❤️‍🩹 DLX is a few days away,” he wrote, pairing gratitude with a hopeful signal that new music is right around the corner.

The message arrives as excitement grows around the upcoming deluxe edition of his 2025 album Free. The expanded project, expected to arrive on March 13, 2026, will add new material to the original release, which was widely praised for its reflective lyricism and polished production.

A few days ago, Nasty C opened up about going through a mentally challenging period. In a candid Instagram post, he spoke about not being in the right headspace and admitted that the struggle affected his online presence and consistency with releasing content. Despite the difficulties, he made it clear that he would rather take his time than put out music that does not meet his standards.

“Look, in a weird way, I feel like I need to apologise for the lack of content the past couple of months,” Nasty C said. “I haven’t been in the right headspace to make any kind of cool, happy content because I haven’t been happy. I’ve been going through it.”

“I’m a human being,” he explained. “I can’t be an entertainer for you right now. I can’t dance for you, I can’t be funny, I can’t even motivate you right now. I need all that stuff.”

His honesty sparked an outpouring of support from fans known as Ivysons, who flooded his posts with messages of encouragement throughout his quieter period online. The upcoming deluxe release is already available for pre-save on major streaming platforms such as Apple Music and Spotify. Early listings suggest the project will feature 22 tracks in total, including the lead single No Typo, which fans can already stream.

The original Free album marked an important chapter in Nasty C’s journey as an independent powerhouse in South African hip-hop. The deluxe edition now looks set to expand that narrative while reaffirming his place among the genre’s most influential voices.
