Newcastle reportedly accepts Liverpool’s bid for Alexander Isak

The saga between Newcastle United and Alexander Isak since the start of the 2025 summer transfer window is officially over as he is set to join Liverpool Football Club.

The Sweden international has been adamant that he was not going to play for Newcastle United again after he accused the Magpies of not keeping to their word as it regards his future. According to reports, Liverpool have made an offer of £130 million for Alexander Isak which is the highest fee any player has been bought in the Premier League.

This deal will overtake the £115 million that Chelsea paid Brighton for Moises Caicedo during the 2023 summer transfer window. Liverpool had a bid of £110m plus add-ons rejected for Isak at the start of August as Newcastle were unwilling to sell him without certain conditions being met.

The forward player will sign a six-year deal which will keep him at Anfield until 2031. This move will see Newcastle complete the signing of Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart for up to £69 million.

Newcastle are also trying to sign a striker to replace Callum Wilson, who left on a free transfer upon the expiry of his contract at the end of last season. They have seen multiple bids rejected for Brentford’s Yoane Wissa and Wolves’ Jorgen Strand-Larsen this summer.
