Nicki Minaj cancels upcoming album as fresh legal troubles emerge over $20m mansion

Nicki Minaj has shocked fans once again, this time by announcing she’s canceling her highly anticipated 2026 album, a move that comes amid mounting legal and personal controversies, including a looming threat to her $20 million Los Angeles mansion.

The rapper made the surprise announcement in a fiery post on social media, directly tagging Jay-Z and accusing his Roc Nation label of sabotaging her music career. “Ok I’m not going to put out the album anymore. No more music. Hope you’re happy now @sc. Bye, Barbz. Love you for life,” she wrote, signaling a dramatic fallout between both camps.

The self-proclaimed Queen of Rap‘s decision follows weeks of online tension, during which she alleged that industry insiders were deliberately blocking her new music release. Her statements have reignited long-standing grievances with Roc Nation over business dealings, including claims she was shortchanged from her supposed stake in the music streaming platform, Tidal.

But as her feud with the hip-hop mogul intensifies, fresh reports indicate that Minaj’s lavish Hidden Hills home could be at risk. Court filings show that she and her husband, Kenneth Petty, have failed to pay a $503,318 court-ordered judgment owed to former security chief Thomas Weidenmüller, who accused Petty of assaulting him during the Nicki WRLD Tour in 2019.

Documents obtained by The Real Deal revealed that Minaj’s property, tied to a $13.2 million mortgage lien, still holds about $6 million in equity, which Weidenmüller’s lawyers claim is more than enough to settle the debt. They are now seeking a court order to sell the mansion if the payment remains outstanding.

Neither Nicki Minaj nor Petty has publicly commented on the latest legal issue, but the development adds to a turbulent period for the rapper, who’s also been engaged in a renewed online spat with Cardi B.

Between her canceled album, ongoing feuds, and growing legal pressure, Nicki Minaj seems to be navigating one of the most dramatic chapters of her career yet.
