Nivo Opens Up About The Chaotic Yet Rewarding Song Selection Process For Lowfeye’s Debut Album “Nosange.” Lowfeye’s highly anticipated debut album “Nosange,” which dropped on 27 March 2026, has already begun making waves in the South African hip-hop scene.

But behind the polished final product lies a story of relentless creativity, last-minute additions, and a team that learned to balance vision with flexibility. Nhlanhla “Nivo” Ndimande, who served as executive producer alongside Lowfeye under the NOSANGE Ent/MODAR banner, recently shared the humorous and intense journey of curating the project’s tracklist.
“What made the whole process tough was that, once the whole project was done, and then we decided on this is what Days Before Nosange was going to be, this man (Lowfeye) sent five more songs,” Nivo recalled. “So we had to start the process again.”
The pre-album EP Days Before Nosange, released in January 2026, was meant to build anticipation with its seven tracks, including collaborations like “Bags On Bags” featuring Priddy Ugly. Yet Lowfeye‘s creative energy refused to rest. Fresh material kept arriving, forcing the team back to the drawing board multiple times.
“And then after that, we decided as a team we are going to ignore him,” Nivo continued with a laugh. “So we kept sending more music. And I think it was two weeks ago his music came out. I was like, no ways, we’re not changing this thing. He played it, and we were all like, ” Hey, sharp, it’s fine, we’ll take it off.”
The back-and-forth ultimately enriched the 14-track album, which opens with the introspective “40k Feet (Intro)” and includes standout records such as “Mission Man,” “Mabulala Amakhosi,” and “Nosange.” Nivo described the experience as both challenging and deeply enjoyable, crediting Lowfeye’s unmatched work ethic.
“I think it was a fun process for us, and just purely because you know it’s not every day you find an artist who works as hard as Lowfeye,” he said. “This guy works really hard, and he knows exactly what he wants. And his favourite words are always ‘Trust me Biggest Nivo’.”
Lowfeye poured personal storytelling into Nosange, including tributes that honour his late mother, after whom the album is named. The project blends hip-hop with soulful elements and features a mix of solo cuts and guest appearances, showcasing his growth from earlier releases like Mfana kaMakhulu and Imibuzo.
Fans have responded warmly to the album’s vulnerability and sonic diversity, with early streams climbing rapidly across platforms. Nivo’s insights highlight not just the technical hurdles of finalising a debut but also the trust and camaraderie that define successful artist-producer relationships in the industry.
