Music industry executive Nota Baloyi has once again stirred the conversation pot, this time by drawing a bold comparison between two of South Africa’s biggest music spectacles: DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small’s Scorpion Kings Live and Cassper Nyovest’s iconic Fill Up series.
Taking to social media, Nota claimed that Phori and Kabza’s sold-out show eclipsed Cassper’s much-celebrated Fill Up FNB Stadium. “Phori sold more tickets for Scorpion Kings Live than Cassper sold for Fill Up FNB without begging or blackmailing people,” Nota wrote, urging artists not to be jealous but rather inspired.

While Cassper’s Fill Up concerts have long been a benchmark for large-scale South African shows, Nota’s remarks suggest that Maphorisa and Kabza may have raised the bar in terms of both numbers and stage innovation.
