NZ Rugby was left embarrassed when the logo of a major sponsor it was suing appeared on All Blacks Sevens kit.
A week after NZ Rugby took legal action against Ineos over an alleged breach of their commercial deal, the chemicals company’s branding appeared on the national sevens team’s playing shorts and training jerseys at the Vancouver Sevens.

NZ Rugby told Stuff there hadn’t been enough time to remove the logo from the kit and it had decided against covering it up.
“NZR was required to stop using Ineos’ logo once the agreement between the two parties was terminated,” NZ Rugby confirmed.
“That means that all national teams will no longer carry the logo on the back of the match shorts in 2025, including the remainder of the SVNS Series and Pacific Four Series in May.”
NZ Rugby said the logo would not be visible at this weekend’s Hong Kong Sevens.
