Tshituka sticks around at Shark Tank

Back-row bruiser Vincent Tshituka has signed again on the dotted line with the Sharks, securing his services at the Durban outfit for the foreseeable future.

An explosive blend of physicality and athleticism, the DRC-born loose forward becomes the latest player at Kings Park to pen to paper on a contract extension until 2027.

This after the Sharks on Monday confirmed that loosehead prop Ox Nche has extended his stay in Durban, along with utility back Ethan Hooker, scrumhalf Bradley Davids and loose forwards Jannes Potgieter and Nick Hatton.

Since joining the Sharks from the Lions in 2022, Tshituka has become a cornerstone of their forward pack with his powerful carries and breakdown prowess.

Currently sidelined with a shoulder injury, the 26-year-old had reportedly attracted interest from several top French clubs, but Tshituka ā€“ along with younger brother Emmanuel ā€“ continues to provide Sharks boss John Plumtree with a wealth of back-row options.

Vincent, who captained the Sharks to the Currie Cup title last season after helping Plumtreeā€™s charges make history by winning the EPCR Challenge Cup earlier this year, now has his sights set on representing the Springboks.

ā€œTo pull on the green and gold [jersey] will remain a dream until the day I hang up my boots,ā€ he told Rapport.
