The 22-year-old artist, celebrated for his blend of trap, rap, and R&B infused with deeply personal storytelling, shared a black-background image showing a sound waveform alongside poignant words reflecting perseverance, doubt, and eventual triumph.
Born Omuhleumnguni Simamane on October 10, 2003, in Umlazi, Durban, Usimamane has quickly risen through South Africa’s hip-hop ranks. He first captured widespread attention in 2024 with the smash hit “Cheque,” which achieved triple-platinum certification and cemented his place in the spotlight. That same year, Apple Music featured him as their Rap Life Africa artist, recognising his growing influence. His debut album, 20th: Days Before Maud, released in September 2024, broke records on Spotify in South Africa with over 332,000 streams in just two days.
Building on his early momentum, Usimamane continued delivering hits. In 2025, he teamed up with American rap icon Rick Ross on “Dangerous II” and earned multiple Metro FM Music Award nominations. Now in 2026, he has already made waves with his EP G-Wagon Music: Baby Tai, a six-track project featuring standout songs such as “Racks,” “Like That,” and “Tai Lung’s Pain.” Fans are also buzzing about possible international collaborations, including a teased track with R&B star Jacquees.
