K-Rev Details How Revenge Club Records Shaped His Approach To Music. K-Rev has opened up about the mindset he has developed at Revenge Club Records, revealing how working alongside artists such as Jay Jody, A-Reece and DJ Clen has influenced the way he approaches his career.

The Daveyton-born, Soweto-based rapper discussed the experience during a recent interview on YFM, where he was asked how being surrounded by established names in South African hip-hop has shaped him as an artist.
For K-Rev, one of the biggest lessons has been learning to find peace before anything else. “Firstly, they taught me I need to find peace immediately when I enter the space,” he said.
The rapper went on to describe how his quiet and measured approach can sometimes be misunderstood by people outside his creative circle. He said his way of carrying himself has previously been interpreted as being nonchalant, lazy or lacking ambition.
However, K-Rev said the lesson from Revenge Club Records was not to allow those outside perceptions to dictate how he creates or presents himself.
“They taught me while I enter this thing, try to find peace as much as possible,” he added, explaining that finding that sense of peace allows him to give his best music to the people who are actually listening.
He also spoke about the pressure artists can face to imitate successful musicians, arguing that staying true to what feels right is more important than trying to satisfy constantly changing expectations.
The comments arrive shortly after the September 28 release of K-Rev’s debut EP, Are We There Yet?, a nine-track project executive-produced by DJ Clen under Revenge Club Records.
The EP’s rollout sparked discussion online, with some listeners questioning K-Rev’s relatively low-key promotional approach. A-Reece stepped in to defend the rapper, while DJ Clen highlighted K-Rev’s freestyle output and studio content as part of the project’s rollout.
K-Rev’s YFM comments now provide further context to that approach. Rather than allowing outside expectations to determine how he promotes himself, the young rapper appears to be embracing a philosophy centred on peace, authenticity and the music itself.
His YFM appearance also touched on his favourite songs from the project, his ambitions for his legacy and what he hopes first-time listeners take away from Are We There Yet?
For an artist still establishing his identity, the Revenge Club Records experience appears to have reinforced one central lesson for K-Rev: knowing what works for him and protecting the creative space that allows him to make his best music.
Are We There Yet? is available to stream across major platforms.
