Kabelo Mabalane Announces Two “For King & Country” Live Shows In December. South African music icon Kabelo “Bouga Luv” Mabalane is preparing to make his return to the live stage with a pair of special performances that promise to bring together nostalgia, fresh sounds and his evolving journey of faith.

The kwaito legend has announced that his one-man show, For King & Country, will take over Teatro Montecasino on 15 and 16 December 2026. Backed by a 16-piece live music ensemble, Mabalane is set to deliver a musical experience that revisits his celebrated catalogue while introducing audiences to a new chapter in his artistry.

Sharing the announcement in a video posted on X, the artist and pastor revealed that the performances will feature new music alongside reimagined versions of his classic hits and other iconic songs that helped shape South African music. The shows are presented in partnership with Johannesburg radio station Kaya 959, with music, life and faith at the heart of the experience.

“BIG ANNOUNCEMENT FOR KING & COUNTRY LIVE SHOW ,” Mabalane wrote. “At Teatro Montecasino on 15 & 16 December 2026, partnering with @kayaon959, I’ll be rocking with a live 16-piece music ensemble bringing new music & fresh depth 2 reimagined classics & iconic era-defining music. LINK IN BIO!”

The announcement signals another defining moment in Kabelo Mabalane’s remarkable career. Having spent more than a decade prioritising full-time ministry, family, business and wellness advocacy, the entertainer is now stepping back into the spotlight with renewed creative energy. His return follows the release of his comeback single, For King and Country, which also serves as the title of his forthcoming album.

The project introduces what Mabalane describes as “Street Psalms,” a musical expression that brings his kwaito foundations into conversation with contemporary worship, urban soul and other influences. It reflects the different chapters of his life, connecting the sound that made him a household name with the faith and purpose that now shape his journey.

Kaya 959, which welcomed Mabalane to its breakfast show for the project’s launch, has positioned the upcoming concerts as a celebration of three decades of a culture-defining musical catalogue. Audiences can look forward to expansive orchestral arrangements, choral elements and a special surprise recognition moment during the performances.

Tickets for the December shows are available through Webtickets.

Mabalane’s return carries particular significance given his legacy as a founding member of TKZee, the groundbreaking kwaito trio he formed alongside Zwai Bala and the late Tokollo “Magesh” Tshabalala. The group helped define an era in South African music before Mabalane went on to establish a successful solo career in the early 2000s, earning multi-platinum success and delivering hits that remain part of the country’s musical heritage.

His journey has extended far beyond music. Over the years, he has opened for international superstars including Jay-Z, 50 Cent and Rihanna, participated in endurance challenges such as the Comrades Marathon, and embraced his calling as a pastor.

Now, with For King & Country, Mabalane is bringing these different worlds together on one stage. The December performances offer an opportunity to revisit the music that shaped his legacy while discovering the sound and message of the man he has become.

For Bouga Luv, this is more than a return to performing. It is a celebration of a career that continues to evolve, with his kwaito roots, musical reinvention and faith converging in a new chapter of his story.
