The Bulls have called for a reinforcement after losing tighthead prop Mornay Smith for Saturday’s URC clash with Munster in Limerick.
According to Netwerk24, 21-year-old Jean Erasmus has been summoned to Ireland after Smith suffered an ankle injury during the Bulls’ 47-13 opening-round victory over Zebre in Parma.
Smith picked up the injury after replacing starting tighthead Francois Klopper in the second half.
A subsequent medical examination revealed the injury to be serious enough for the Bulls to send Smith back to South Africa.

Erasmus, who represented the Junior Boks at last year’s Junior World Championship, is expected to compete with Khutha Mchunu for the vacant front-row spot on the Bulls bench.
