Anele Zondo Lands SAMA32 Awards Hosting Gig. Anele “Ney The Bae” Zondo is heading back to the hosting spotlight after confirming that she will front the SAMA32 Industry Awards on Friday, 14 August 2026.
Known for her vibrant personality and commanding stage presence, Zondo says she is ready to celebrate the creative minds who help shape South Africa’s biggest music moments. Sharing the announcement with her followers, the entertainer could hardly contain her excitement.
“Exciting News Bae!!! I’ll be hosting the SAMA32 Industry Awards on Friday the 14th of August! Back on the hosting stage. Only good vibes from your fave Zulu Bae, celebrating the icons that create our fave songs.”
The Industry Awards shine a spotlight on the often overlooked contributors behind South Africa’s music industry, recognising producers, engineers, directors, songwriters and other creatives whose work powers the nation’s biggest hits. The celebration takes place a day before the main SAMA32 ceremony, which will be held on Saturday, 15 August at the Sun City Superbowl in the North West under the theme, The Future Sounds Like Now Now.
Born and raised in Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal, Zondo has built an impressive career across television, music and acting. Widely recognised as Ney The Bae, she has hosted Massive Music, starred in The River, worked as an MC and performer, and earned a reputation as one of South Africa’s most versatile entertainers. She also previously hosted the inaugural Basadi in Music Awards, making her no stranger to leading major music industry celebrations.
SAMA spokesperson Unati Gwija welcomed Anele Zondo‘s appointment, describing her as the perfect fit for an evening dedicated to recognising the industry’s behind-the-scenes excellence.
“The Industry Awards celebrate the incredible talent and craftsmanship that drive our music industry behind the scenes,” Gwija said, adding that Zondo brings the charisma, professionalism and stage presence needed to honour those achievements.
The SAMA32 celebrations will continue the following evening with Cassper Nyovest and Zanele Potelwa taking charge as hosts of the main awards ceremony. Fresh By Caddy and Munaka Muthambi will lead the official red carpet coverage as the South African music industry gathers to celebrate another year of outstanding achievements.
Backed by the Motsepe Foundation and supported by partners including the SABC and RiSA, this year’s awards promise another memorable showcase of local talent. With Zondo promising “only good vibes,” the Industry Awards are set to kick off the SAMA32 weekend with energy, appreciation and well-deserved recognition for the creatives working behind the scenes.
