Paint the town red? No! Ayra Starr painted New York City purple yesterday when she stepped out for the exclusive Manhattan listening party for her highly anticipated third studio album, Starr Girl.

The Nigerian singer-songwriter arrived at the venue wearing a strapless periwinkle blue mini dress crafted with horizontal ruched mesh panelling and a striking vertical strip of 3D fabric floral appliqués down the centre bodice.

Styling a strapless mini dress requires precise proportion balancing: pair the bare neckline with a thick multi-row rhinestone choker, sharp accessories like slim black rectangular sunglasses, cobalt blue open-toe mule heels, a thin gold chain anklet, and a glittery dark blue hard-shell clutch with silver lettering spelling out “Girl.” Her retro updo featured side-swept fringe detailing alongside bronze-toned makeup and defined lip liner.
