Barretts all in on the move north

Lyon have reportedly been offered the opportunity to sign one of the Barrett brothers, who are linked with a move to top clubs across Europe after the 2027 World Cup.

According to Midi Olympique, Jordie Barrett’s name has been put forward to the French giants’ recruitment team, with initial discussions believed to be underway over a possible move for the All Blacks star.

The 29-year-old, who has scored 26 tries in 86 Tests, previously spent a season with Irish province Leinster in 2024-25.

However, it is understood that Lyon could face competition from Japan’s Rugby League One for the versatile back’s services.

Older brothers Beauden and Scott have also been linked with moves to England, with Bristol Bears reportedly interested in both players. The Newcastle Red Bulls are also in the mix.
