Blxckie Puts Himself Alongside Nasty C In His Current SA Hip-Hop Top Three. Blxckie is making his position in South African hip-hop crystal clear, and he has no reservations about placing himself among the country’s best rappers right now.
During a recent appearance on Press Play by Culture’s Biggest, the Durban-born rapper was asked to name his current top three South African rappers, with the interesting condition that he had to include himself.
When the conversation shifted to hip-hop, Blxckie acknowledged how difficult it was to narrow down the country’s talent to just three names. However, two positions appeared to be non-negotiable in his book: Nasty C and himself.
“Nasty C is up there, facts for sure. I agree. I’m up there for sure,” he said.
The rapper then suggested that there was only one more spot available, making it clear that while others could compete for the remaining position, he was not worried about his own place in the conversation.
“There’s only one more person. That one person left. I don’t even fight for it. It’s no problem. They fight for third one. And I’m there, trust me,” he added.
Although Blxckie did not explicitly reveal the third rapper, his comments carried a confident message about where he believes he stands in the current South African rap landscape.
The conversation arrives at an interesting time for the rapper, who recently released his latest album, YENA, on October 30, 2026. The project features collaborations with A-Reece and Usimamane, among others, further showcasing his continued presence in the local hip-hop scene.
With Nasty C earning a place in his selection and himself confidently claiming another, Blxckie has added fresh fuel to the ever-running debate about South Africa’s current rap hierarchy. The question now is who deserves that final spot?
