Boks’ No 1 status at stake

The All Blacks will replace the Springboks as the world’s No 1-ranked team with a win at Ellis Park on Saturday.

A victory by between one and 15 points would earn New Zealand 1.17 ranking points, with the Boks losing the same amount. That would take the All Blacks to 93.45 points and see South Africa drop to 92.79.

An All Blacks win by 16 points or more would earn them 1.75 ranking points, with the Boks’ tally decreasing by the same amount.

Should the Boks win by between one and 15 points, they would gain just 0.83 ranking points, while a victory by 16 points or more would earn them 1.25.
