Two integral Springbok coaches have reportedly been left at home as the squad makes their way to Buenos Aires for next Saturday’s one-off clash against Argentina.
According to Rapport, Springbok attack guru Tony Brown and Mobi-Unit coach Duane Vermeulen have remained in South Africa with a group of players at the national team’s base in Johannesburg.
While Rassie Erasmus departed for Argentina on Saturday with a 26-man squad, Brown is understood to be leading a parallel training camp ahead of the Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry series against the All Blacks.
Senior analyst Joe Lewis and sports scientist Sebastian Prim are also understood to be part of this coaching group.

Brown’s role is notable given his extensive knowledge of New Zealand rugby, and much of the Boks’ current attacking framework is built around the former All Blacks flyhalf’s philosophy.
Rapport adds that Vermeulen has remained to assist Brown, with the ex-Bok No 8 expected to oversee work at the breakdown and driving mauls.
The players staying behind include Cheslin Kolbe, Damian Willemse, Jesse Kriel, Malcolm Marx, Pieter-Steph du Toit, Paul de Villiers, Jasper Wiese, Grant Williams, Manie Libbok, Damian de Allende, Kurt-Lee Arendse and Ruan Nortjé.
