Bulls captain learns fate

Marcell Coetzee has received the outcome of his URC disciplinary hearing following his citing for foul play against Ulster.

SARugbymag.co.za understands that the Bulls captain was cleared by the panel after pleading his case via video conference on Wednesday night.

Coetzee was cited for an incident involving Ulster lock Ben Donnell during Saturday’s match at Loftus Versfeld.

He was alleged to have breached Laws 9.20(a) and 9.20(b), which prohibit dangerous play at a ruck or maul, including charging into an opponent without binding and making contact above the shoulders.

The reported ruling means Coetzee is available for selection for Saturday’s URC clash against the Scarlets.

The Bulls will announce their team at 1pm on Thursday.
