The Confederation of African Football ( CAF) has expressed concerns over the troubling ordeal faced by Nigeria’s national football team, the Super Eagles, in Libya

The body governing football in the Federation ( CAF) released a statement on its official website on Monday, October 14, 2024, confirming that it has taken immediate steps to engage both Libyan and Nigerian authorities. According to the body, the situation is unacceptable and action will be taken against those who violated CAF’s rules and regulations.

Recall that the Super Eagles players and their staff were left stranded under distressing conditions for several hours ahead of the second leg Africa Cup of Nations against Libya. The Nigerian men’s national team opted to boycott the match after the players confirmed through their nation’s federation that they were not in the right state of mind to play the game both physically and mentally.
