According to CAS, the appeal seeks to overturn CAF’s ruling that Senegal forfeited the competition, a decision that resulted in Morocco being recognized as champions.
CAS also confirmed that the parties involved did not agree to fast-track the proceedings. As a result, the appeal is following the tribunal’s standard procedural timeline rather than an expedited process.
The hearing will be conducted behind closed doors on October 8, with only the parties involved and the arbitration panel in attendance.
