Coach Frans Steyn has made sweeping changes to the Cheetahs forward pack for Saturday’s Currie Cup clash against the Pumas in Nelspruit.
Only captain and No 8 Neels Volschenk keeps his jersey from last week’s win against the Boland Cavaliers.
He is joined in the back row by blindside flank Pierre Uys and Sisonke Vumazonke, who shifts to openside.
The entire tight five is changed, with Dux Manyama, Stefan Venter (who replaces injured hooker Juan Smal) and Aranos Coetzee in the front row and Arno van der Merwe and Carl Wegner in the second row.
In the only change to the backline, Jooste Nel replaces the injured Zander du Plessis at inside centre.
FRANS: Faf’s not going anywhere
Volschenk and replacement utility back Marco Jansen van Vuren are both set to earn their 50th cap for the Cheetahs, who have already secured a home semi-final going into the final round of the league stage.
