A standout performer for back-to-back champions Griquas in the 2026 Currie Cup has secured a loan deal with Italian club Zebre Parma.
Outside centre Zane Bester will link up with the URC outfit for the 2026-27 season after helping the men from Kimberley defend their title with victory against the Pumas two weeks ago.
An energetic, attacking midfielder, the 24-year-old represented Shimlas in the Varsity Cup before joining Griquas in 2024.

“A new opportunity for Zane as he joins Zebre Parma on loan for the duration of the URC,” read a club statement on Facebook.
“He’ll return to Kimberley for the 2027 Currie Cup campaign, and we’re pleased to announce that Zane has also extended his Griquas contract through to 2029.
“We’re proud to see our players taking the next step in their careers and look forward to welcoming Zane back to the Griquas family.”
Zebre finished last in the URC last term with two wins and 16 losses, and will host the Bulls on Saturday in round one of the new season.
