The Africa Sevens tournament in Mauritius has been postponed indefinitely due to concerns over the spread of Ebola.
Next weekend’s competition was set to feature a South African development side alongside teams from across the continent.
However, organisers have opted to delay the event as a precautionary measure amid regional health concerns.
According to Rugby Africa, there have been no reported Ebola cases among any of the participating teams.
However, the decision follows travel restrictions imposed by Mauritius, which bars entry to travellers who have visited or transited through Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo or South Sudan within the previous 21 days.
