“F*ck Scoop”, Rea Gopane Says As He Revisits Bonang Fallout. Controversial South African podcaster and artist, Rea Gopane, has once again pulled back the curtain on the fallout from his explosive comments about media personality Bonang Matheba and radio presenter Scoop Makhathini.

In a candid sit-down with Nine80 Network, he revisited the chain of events that sparked one of the industry’s most talked-about feuds.
The controversy dates back to a podcast episode released on a Friday. A Twitter user named Cobert clipped a segment of Rea Gopane’s remarks and shared it online, setting off a wave of attention that quickly spiralled. Within hours, the clip was circulating widely, drawing in major personalities and intensifying tensions.
When asked whether he ever spoke directly to Bonang Matheba at the peak of the drama, Gopane broke it down in his own words:
“Let me tell you, this is how this whole thing happened. So we dropped the podcast on a Friday. So the guy’s name is Cobert on Twitter. He posted a clip of me saying that stuff. The clips started getting traction. And then Scoop Makhatini calls me, cause remember I said Scoop told us. So, Scoop did tell me that by the way. Im still standing on that, by the way, post interview. I interviewed Scoop, so after that, he was just yapping, and I was like yeah im gonna say this for sure. So Scoop called me and said Bonang is mad she’s calling for your head, she wants you gone right now,” Gopane explained.
He also opened up about the lingering tension with Scoop Makhathini, revealing that time has done little to repair their relationship. According to Gopane, every attempt to mend things has been shut down, despite his efforts to apologise.
“The thing is, Scoop is still mad even to this day. Every time I meet Scoop, I go to him just to see where he is mentally, like maybe he’s over it, and he’s like I don’t want to talk to you. But, I dont really give a fk though, fk Scoop dawg. You know what’s crazy, I’ve tried to apologise to Scoop, and every time I see him he’s just like I don’t wanna talk to you,” Gopane added.
Despite issuing public apologies at the time, Gopane now appears unapologetic about the core of his statements while reflecting on the personal and professional ripples
