Director of rugby John Dobson has made several enforced adjustments to the Stormers side for Friday night’s URC opener against Connacht in Galway.
Loose forwards Evan Roos and Marcel Theunissen have been ruled out with soft-tissue injuries, Roos having hurt a hamstring and Theunissen a calf.
Quoted by IOL Sport, Dobson believes both were linked to the artificial 4G surface on which the Stormers trained before Friday’s round-one fixture at The Sportsground.
Riley Norton, initially named at lock, shifts to blindside flank in place of Louw Nel, with Nel moving to No 6 and Gary Porter starting at lock. Utility back Wandisile Simelane replaces Theunissen on the bench.
The changes also see the Stormers revert from a 6-2 replacements split to 5-3.
