Stormers boss John Dobson has revealed flyhalf Jurie Matthee will play no part in Friday night’s fixture in Edinburgh.
Matthee hurt his ankle in last week’s URC round-one 29-15 win against Connacht. In a clip posted by Netwerk24 from training in Galway, Dobson said the 25-year-old is back home for treatment with loose forwards Evan Roos (hamstring) and Marcel Theunissen (calf).

The director of rugby could not yet share the severity of their injuries or the duration of recovery.
Matthee’s position in the Stormers pecking order was assured behind Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu but with the Springbok star unavailable until next week, Yaqeen Ahmed is set to start at 10 this week.
The 20-year-old Ahmed made his Stormers debut against the All Blacks in the Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry opener, and featured off the bench at The Sportsground for his URC bow.
