Kabelo Mabalane Opens Up About 11-Year Wait For Forthcoming Album “Kabelo.” After more than a decade away from releasing a full-length project, Kabelo Mabalane has announced that his long-awaited new album, Kabelo, is on the way, explaining that he only felt ready to release new music once it reflected who he has become.
Speaking in a heartfelt video message, Kabelo Mabalane reflected on the long gap since his last album, Immortal Volume 3, which was released in 2015.
“Like any musician or creative, I’ve continued to create over the past 11 years,” he said. “There was music I wanted to release, but something just didn’t sit right with me. I really believe I wasn’t creating from an authentic place.”
He encouraged fellow creatives to remain true to themselves, saying authenticity should always be at the heart of the creative process.
“I think that’s a message to all of us as creators, to ensure that whatever we create is from an authentic place.”
Mabalane explained that his life has changed significantly since his last album. He is now a husband, a father and a pastor, and said those experiences, together with his faith, have shaped the music on the upcoming project.
“I’m a married man, I’m a father, I’m a pastor. I am where I’m at with my faith, and I really believe that’s the place I need to create from.”
He added that the forthcoming album is the result of embracing that season of life and said he cannot wait for listeners to hear it.
Mabalane concluded the announcement by encouraging fans to pre-save the project through the link in his social media bio, confirming that the album will be released later this year.
