LaCabra Sets The Record Straight On Qwellers Breakup Speculation. Qwellers co-founder LaCabra has set the record straight on rumours suggesting the collective has split, pushing back firmly against speculation that has been circulating online.

The Durban-raised rapper, born Mxolisi Sibisi and also known as Mr Bully, says fans are overanalysing a period of individual growth.
Speaking in a recent interview on SlikourOnLife following the release of his debut solo album, MR BULLY, LaCabra addressed the chatter head-on. Social media had been flooded with theories after fans noticed solo releases, shifting dynamics, and even unfollows among members. For him, none of that points to a breakup.
“They say the Qwellers broke up, what, what, nah, you’re talking smack,” he said bluntly. “People just saw it, we just did a show, Qwellers’ show.”
He admitted that the group’s current phase may feel unfamiliar to longtime supporters. With members like Lowfeye, Blue Pappi, and others stepping into their individual lanes, the spotlight has naturally shifted.
“I feel like people are seeing us right now shining as individuals. I just dropped my first album, and it’s kinda uncomfortable for the fans for sure,” he explained. “But it’s not really that deep. We’re out here, we’ve been dropping solo projects, we’ve been doing this thing.”
Formed in 2020, the Qwellers have always operated as more than a traditional hip-hop group. Rooted in brotherhood, the collective has built its identity on collaboration, shared ambition, and a sound that fuses raw lyricism with Zulu influence and street energy. Tracks like “Qwel It” and “P on P,” along with collaborations with artists such as Sjava, have strengthened their growing fanbase.
LaCabra also dismissed speculation fueled by social media behaviour, stressing that online activity does not reflect real-life relationships. “So it’s not about anything, social media, unfollowing each other, that’s nothing deep,” he said. “We’re brothers, we’re out here together right now. So don’t overthink.”
He closed with a clear message to fans: “One day when we break up, we’ll let you know, but for now, we’re out here.”
