Lord Script Defends His Music Career and Success Amid Online Criticism. South African rapper Lord Script has responded fiercely to criticism surrounding his music, making it clear that online opinions are not affecting either his confidence or his bank account.
In a lengthy and emotionally charged statement shared online, the rapper addressed backlash from a younger critic who claimed not to enjoy his music. Rather than showing frustration over the criticism itself, Lord Script emphasised that his real issue lies with what he sees as growing disrespect toward artists who have spent years building their careers.
“You think I Was Mad Because A Lil Nigga Said He Dont Like My Song?” he wrote. “I’ve Been Making Music For 17+ Years. I’ve Taken Criticism And Hate All Those Years. That Shit Don’t Faze Me.”
The artist went on to highlight the success he has achieved independently over nearly two decades in music. According to Lord Script, he has released multiple projects that have surpassed millions of streams while maintaining full ownership of his catalogue and business operations.
“I’m Signed Under Myself. I’m A Business Man. I Own All The Masters Of All The Songs Ive Ever Made,” he stated proudly.
Lord Script also revealed that he owns studio equipment worth around R80,000, which he says was funded entirely through revenue generated by his music. He pointed to streaming numbers on platforms like Spotify and YouTube Music as proof that his work continues to generate significant income despite criticism from detractors.
“I Make Too Much Money With That ‘Wack’ Music To Give A F**k What Anybody Would Have To Say,” he added.
While much of the post focused on financial independence and longevity in the game, the rapper’s tone shifted when addressing what he described as personal disrespect. Lord Script warned that while criticism of his music is acceptable, crossing certain lines could lead to confrontations beyond social media.
“My Only Problem Is When Intwana Uses Internet To Disrespect Me,” he wrote before adding that he views rap as “real life” and not just entertainment.

“As Long As Ngenza Imali Mina Ngi Moja,” he concluded, signalling that as long as the music continues making money, outside opinions will never outweigh the success he has built.
