Lucasraps Reveals Snoop Dogg Paid Him $2,500 For Featuring On “Algorithm (Global Edition)” Album. Lucasraps has a clear response for anyone side-eyeing his feature fees. If a legend like Snoop Dogg recognises his worth, then the criticism carries little weight.

Speaking in a recent interview, the Durban-born artist addressed doubts about what he charges for guest verses. He pointed to a major career highlight, his appearance on the track Make Some Money from Snoop Dogg’s 2021 album Algorithm (Global Edition). The song also includes American rap names Fabolous and Dave East, placing Lucasraps alongside some of hip-hop’s established voices.
“I don’t know what people expect,” he said. “I have a song with Snoop Dogg, Dave and Fabolous. I’m on Snoop Dogg’s album. Snoop paid me for my feature. He paid me 2500 dollars. That’s why when I tell people my price, they look at me like I’m crazy. So I’m like, if Snoop Dogg can feel me, who are you?”
The collaboration became a defining moment in his career. Lucasraps was one of only two African artists personally selected for the global edition of the project. Released toward the end of 2021, the track merged West Coast influence with international flavour, giving him space to prove himself on a global stage.
Confidence has always been central to Lucasraps’ identity, and this story reinforces how he values his craft. Feature pricing often sparks debate in the music industry, especially when top artists command massive fees. Lucasraps frames his own rate through a different lens, one shaped by validation from a globally respected figure.
Snoop Dogg, widely known for both his musical legacy and business instincts, reportedly paid Lucasraps directly for the verse. For many rising artists, a placement like that is already a milestone. Being paid for it adds another level of credibility. Lucasraps presents the moment not just as a flex, but as proof that recognition from the right people matters most.
