MashBeatz & DJ Sliqe Gear Up For Rush-Awa Album With New Single “BALLON d’Or.” South African hip-hop heavyweights MashBeatz and DJ Sliqe are ready to take their Rush-Awa partnership to the next level, officially confirming the release date for their highly anticipated self-titled debut album.
Taking to social media on 15 October 2026, the production duo announced that RUSH-AWA will arrive on 23 October 2026. Alongside the announcement, they unveiled their latest single, “BALLON d’Or,” which dropped at midnight as the album’s pre-order went live.
The upcoming project marks a significant milestone for two producers who have spent years contributing to the sound of South African hip-hop. Now operating as Rush-Awa, MashBeatz and DJ Sliqe have been building their own identity, combining the hard-hitting foundations of local rap with club-ready production and street-inspired energy.
They introduced the project earlier this year with “Lapisa,” released in June and featuring Lowfeye, LaCabra and Dolphin_DX. The collaboration helped establish the duo’s sound, gaining traction among listeners and receiving further attention through its accompanying music video.
In August, Rush-Awa returned with “Ntshepe,” a more measured offering featuring Loatinover Pounds, Sjava and Cassper Nyovest. The collaboration brought together artists with distinct approaches to rap and songwriting, highlighting MashBeatz and DJ Sliqe’s ability to blend different voices into a cohesive production style.
With two singles already setting the tone, the announcement of RUSH-AWA signals the arrival of a full-length project from a partnership that has steadily built anticipation throughout the year.
