Moozlie Gets First Career Plaque After Years of Building Her Legacy. South African rapper, television personality and entrepreneur Nomuzi “Moozlie” Mabena has added a special new milestone to her career after receiving her first-ever plaque, although the recognition came for something far more personal than streams or views.

The plaque was presented by Industry Nite SA, a platform focused on celebrating excellence in South African music and entertainment while creating opportunities for artists through performances, workshops and networking. Sharing the moment on social media, Moozlie welcomed the recognition with humour, gratitude and a touch of faith.
“Guess what guys… I just got my first plaque,” she wrote, accompanying the announcement with a glowing disc emoji. She jokingly wondered whether it could officially qualify as a plaque without RISA approval, but admitted that the unexpected honour still brought her joy, describing it as “a heartwarming chuckle during prayer this week.”
For Moozlie, however, the significance of the plaque went well beyond the physical award. She viewed the moment as a reminder that her journey is about more than conventional measures of success.
“A little reminder that God is more concerned with my heart & my character than any amount of success I could ever amass,” she reflected.
The rapper made it clear that she remains determined to earn the industry’s official certifications and milestones. Still, she said there was something particularly meaningful about knowing that her dedication had been noticed and appreciated by the people around her.
Moozlie also expressed her appreciation to Industry Nite SA for the recognition, as well as to everyone who attended and supported the platform by coming out “to listen, learn & love.”
Her first plaque arrives more than a decade into a career that has continued to evolve across music, television, fashion, entrepreneurship and radio. Moozlie first rose to wider prominence after winning the MTV Base VJ Search in 2012 and went on to establish herself as a prominent figure in South African hip-hop, releasing projects such as Versus and Victory while expanding her influence beyond music.
While plaques are often associated with streaming figures, sales and other measurable milestones, Moozlie’s latest honour celebrates a different part of the journey. It recognises the consistency, effort and character behind the career.
For an artist who has spent years building her name and connecting with audiences, the plaque serves as a reminder that success is not always measured in numbers. The official certifications may still be on her list, but this first recognition has already given Moozlie something worth celebrating.
