The Nations Championship has unveiled the Hemisphere Shield, which will be awarded to the winners of the finals weekend at Twickenham from 26-28 November.
The new trophy will be contested alongside the Nations Championship title, with the results of all six north-south matches in London counting towards the overall hemisphere battle.
Seven points will be available across finals weekend. One point will be awarded to the winning hemisphere in each of the matches between the teams ranked second through sixth, while the clash between the two top-ranked sides will be worth two.
The first hemisphere to reach four points will claim the Shield.
The battle between north and south is currently evenly poised after the first three rounds of the Nations Championship in July, with teams from each hemisphere recording nine victories.
Three further rounds will be played during the northern series before the final standings determine the matchups for finals weekend.
